Did you know that we have to go back 5,300 years to track the history of pancakes?

Yep! 🤓Precisely in Italy! I’m Italian myself and I had no clue, I mean, for me pancakes are 100% American aren’t they?

In the past, pancakes were a good and delicious 😋 excuse to use up the stock of milk, eggs and butter before the fasting period in church.

Many years down the road, in 1796, the first recipe for pancakes was published but if you google “pancake recipe 1796” and you can’t find it, just try to change it to “Johny or Cake” recipe, because that’s how they were called.

The story goes on till our days but I thought the best part was to share with you the origins of pancakes, right?
